In 2010, Capitol Records was looking to drive sales and expand the reach of the studio division. At the time, musicians could only use the studios if their manager's picked up the phone or banged a drum on Vine Street to get the studio manager's attention. Enter Capitol Beacon...the online portal that artists, labels, and music producers from all over the world could use to tap into the technical excellence of the Capitol Tower studios in Hollywood, CA. from their own desks or living rooms.

Matt was in charge of delivering a simple-to-use website that allowed artists to upload their unmastered audio tracks, input their track list/publishing metadata, choose their media and pay in a few easy steps. The final product was audio featuring a heightened clarity of sound, a broader frequency spectrum bandwidth, and a more controlled range of volume levels across multiple songs. Ultimately, customers were given industry ready tracks at a reasonable price within days of purchase.

CAPITOL CM55-11

The management team at Capitol Studios were looking to augment the studio offerings with a secret weapon only available through Capitol Mastering and Capitol Beacon and decided a custom tube compressor would be the way to go. The electronics and features of the CM55-11 were designed and constructed completely in-house by the Capitol Studios
technical staff with the goal of adding warmth and clarity to any song.
